ILP #1 - Participation - Lynda Tutorial
For my first ILP, I watched a Lynda tutorial on LinkedIn. My experience with this is that the tutorial about how to use LinkedIn and the different ways that it helps you as an educational technology was really easy to both understand and follow. It seemed to me like the fact that the video was broken up into smaller sections that made up the full tutorial helped me to know exactly what each part was about. Because these sections were titled, the titles helped steer my focus toward the points that each section made.
Some of the important points that I took notes on about how LinkedIn is a good educational technology included the fact that it helps you add skills because you are able to search nearly any subject and get a "course" that teaches you about it. These courses are taught by people who are experts in the particular subject you choose. It also talked about how this site can be used to advance one's career, and that through the use of setting "smart" goals (picture shown below of what each letter stands for) can help you to advance in multiple areas of your life. The tutorial talked about how everyone learns differently, and about how using this site can allow you to identify how you personally learn best and whether or not that learning is considered active or passive. The tutorial also included how you can use quizzes on LinkedIn to validate your learning.
